Mariona meets DanMcB
country soul with a modern twist
Mariona Smets and Daniel McBrearty started playing music together for fun in 2010. Mariona found new musical direction in Daniel’s musicianship and songwriting; Daniel found a vehicle for his creativity in Mariona’s voice.
Daniel began writing lush arrangements, horns and strings, sounds he had wanted to create for many years. Mariona lent her uncluttered and pure interpretations. Musicians were hired, studios booked ... now, in December 2011, their EP, “Mariona Meets DanMcB” is ready for release.
Mariona Smets en Daniel McBrearty, een Welsh composer die al enige jaren in Antwerpen woont, begonnen hun muzikaal avontuur in 2010.
Mariona zag een uitdaging en nieuwe richting in Daniel zijn songwriting en arrangementen.
Daniel creëerde voor dit project een aparte sound. Hij beschrijft deze zelf als “country soul with a modern twist”.
Mariona vertolkt de songs met veel gevoel en persoonlijkheid.
“Mariona meets DanMcB” is klaar om gehoord te worden.
